28 Nov A Cordless, Barrel-grip Jigsaw
Having owned my old corded Bosch jigsaw for thirty-some years, it was interesting to see how far the technology has come. The new Bosch JS120 is a 12-volt barrel grip tool that delivers fast cuts and long runtime. It’s very compact – just 9.4” long and only 3 lbs. (tool only, not including the battery). It has a three-stage orbital action and up to 2800 strokes per minute, and there’s a counterbalanced, low-vibration plunge mechanism. It has a 45° bevel angle range and this light jig saw can cut through wood (up to 2-1/2” thick) and aluminum. The JS120 also has single-handed blade change with a tool-free T-Shank blade design, and it doesn’t accept U-shank blades. (That’s a big upgrade from the complicated routine required to change blades in my old saw!) There’s also an integrated LED light.
