A Couple of Jobsite Jewels…

Makita USA has introduced two new jobsite accessories that are designed to improve working conditions. The 18V X2 LXT® is a 31″ tall cordless and corded LED work-light that has some clever features. The self-righting light stays in an upright position, so it doesn’t fall over if bumped. And it’s non-directional – it provides 360 degrees of intense LED illumination so a woodworker doesn’t have to move it constantly when, for example, he/she is moving along a wall adjusting cabinet doors. Beam strength is 5,500/3,000/1,500 lumens, depending on whether it’s set on High/Medium/Low, and the lamp delivers up to 15 hours of continuous illumination with two 5.0Ah 18V LXT Batteries on low (batteries and charger not included), and over 3 hours on high. The other accessory is an 18V LXT® / 12V max CXT® cordless Bluetooth® radio/charger that charges both 18V LXT and 12V max CXT batteries. The radio has two powerful 3.5” side-firing speakers, a digital tuner, and the ability to connect a mobile device wirelessly via Bluetooth, or an MP3 player via the auxiliary port. There’s also storage space for portable devices, and a built-in bottle opener. A new optional 18 volt external speaker (Bluetooth) has a 4″ woofer with a passive radiator and a 1.4″ tweeter. A shop can connect as many as the jobsite needs for stereo sound in adjacent rooms on an install, or just around the workshop, too.
