A Couple of New, Powerful Impact Wrenches

In August, WoodEzine reported on the new XWT14 and XWT15 impact wrenches from Makita USA. Now the company has added to the product line with two new mid-torque 18V LXT® brushless, 4-speed, half-inch square drive tools, the XWT17 and XWT18. The former features a friction ring-type anvil for faster socket changes and the latter has a detent-type anvil for increased socket retention. Their BL™ brushless motors deliver 520 ft. lbs. of fastening torque and 740 ft. lbs. of nut-busting torque (most powerful in its class). There are three forward and three reverse Auto-Stop Modes for increased efficiency, and the tools are just the right size to handle most applications as they weigh in at only 6 lbs. with the battery installed, for reduced operator fatigue.
