11 Feb A New Folding Workbench from Stanley
Billed as being “made for trade workers who require a versatile, portable working surface”, a new Fold-Up Workbench from Stanley (item STST11552) has a plastic top and square metal folding legs. It’s designed to save space in the truck, as it folds down to 33-1/2” x 13-1/2” x 6-3/10” and has a handy handle. On the jobsite, it opens to 33-1/2” x 23-1/2” and 29” tall, so it can act as “an easily accessible holding station for heavy tools and materials on the jobsite”. It has holes in all the right places for using quick clamps to hold parts, and the worktop locks automatically to help prevent accidental folding and buckling. Stanley says it can support loads up to 700 lbs., and more than one bench can be locked together when a larger area is required. There’s a handy built-in accessory tray for small parts and tools, and a measuring guide integrated into the surface. The workbench weighs 16.4 lbs. While it will be available at The Home Depot and other stores, we couldn’t find any mention of price or when it will be available. As of yesterday, the images on the website wouldn’t open for us when clicked (they work if you select the option of opening them in a separate window – right-click on a Mac), so we assume Stanley is still working on the official release.
