06 Mar Amana Tool 5-Pack of Solid Carbide Spektra™ Up-Cut CNC Bits
The manufacturer says that these bits will produce super clean, smooth cuts especially in acrylic materials such as Plexiglas® and Lucite® plus other plastics and wood. The bits are made to strict tolerances from an exclusive carbide grade, and then polished to a mirror finish using a unique Amana process. They are designed to eject chips upward and are ideal for industrial applications and CNC machines. They have a right-hand helix cut. Spektra™ bits have a nanocomposite coating that delivers extreme hardness and heat resistance. The nACo coating is a micro-thin ceramic that lets the tool’s cutting edge retain crucial sharpness and lubricity. This provides longevity and produces cutting results of the highest quality. The coating prevents high heat and oxidation, which are detrimental to cutting tool performance. The multi-colored hues, while attractive, will dissipate upon use and yet the coating will remain fully effective. nACo offers approximately 4,500 Vickers for impressive solid hardness on cutting areas of the tool, which is an increase of up to 2.5 times compared to uncoated bits. The single flute bits in this five-pack (item 51414-K-5) are 3/8” diameter and have a 1-1/8” cutting length. The shank is also 3/8” and the bits are 3” long. They are designed to be used only on CNC machines and routers with automatic feeding. The benefits of their Mirror-Finish include a razor-sharp cutting edge, effortless chip removal, extended tool life, good heat dissipation and an exceptional cut quality. Other sizes are available.
