22 Aug An Edge Sanding Guide
This October, Festool will release its new palm sander guide (AH-ES-ETS/ETSC) that will allow woodworkers to address edges at specific angles when using the company’s orbital sanders. The new guide (catalog # 205316, $99) delivers the speed and reliable finish quality that one would otherwise expect from stationary edge-sanding equipment. It easily and quickly attaches to the 5” Random Orbit Sander ETS 125 REQ and the Cordless Sander ETSC 125. Its intuitive and ergonomic design adapts to practically any kind of edge, angle, or curvature to create finished results with consistency, and in less time, than hand sanding. The guide allows woodworkers to avoid tilting or accidentally burning through material, and delivers controlled sanding with a soft mode to adapt the angle to the work-piece, or a hard mode to keep a fixed angle position. One can set and hold angles with tool-free adjustment, and protect sensitive work-pieces with replaceable base runner pads. The bottom line is that this guide will Improve edge sanding results on edges from 3/16“ to 2-3/8“ (5-60 mm) wide, and on angled surfaces from 43 to 92 degrees.
