Black… A Cabinet Color?

Visit

In June, writer Dee Funk wrote a blog entry for the Kountry Kraft website under the headline ‘Designs With Black Cabinets‘. Kountry Kraft is a large custom cabinet shop located in Devon, Pennsylvania, which was founded by the Hurst family in 1959. Today the company has partnerships with kitchen and bath professionals across the country. The blog article featured several examples – some of the casework is completely black, while other samples use the black color (or lack of color?) as an accent. That’s what’s happening in the accompanying photo, where a kitchen designed by Stonington Cabinetry & Designs in Madison, New Jersey Black pairs black cabinets with white. It features a black kitchen island among the white perimeter cabinetry, bringing a touch of contemporary to an otherwise transitional style. Woodshops looking for ways to add drama to client kitchens should find the photos interesting.
