RIDGID R09891B brad nailer

Brushless Brad Nailer from RIDGID Drives 5/8” to 2-1/8” Fasteners

A new brad nailer has been trickling into The Home Depot stores over the last few weeks. This is from RIDGID and it’s an 18-volt brushless, cordless brad nailer that takes 18-gauge fasteners from 5/8” to 2-1/8” long.  The gun (item R09891B, listed at $199) incorporates the company’s Clean Drive technology and RIDGID says it delivers “17X more consecutive perfect drives than the competition”. It’s more compact and lighter in weight than its predecessor, which was the R09890B. There’s a small nose for visibility and the gun drives flush at all angles with no driver blade slip. The brushless motor delivers more runtime, power, and longer motor life. There’s a dry-fire lockout function that extends motor life and prevents misfires. It will deliver 3,500 nails per charge when using a 4.0 Ah battery (not included) and will run with any RIDGID 18-volt battery. A selectable mode switch allows contact actuation or single sequential actuation mode, and an LED light engages independently of the trigger to illuminate a workspace. There are two non-marring pads included to keep the work surface free of tool marks. There’s tool-free depth of drive to protect work surfaces from overdriving, and tool-free power adjustment to regulate power for optimum results. A tool-free jam release makes it easy to clear jams, and there is a belt clip included in the package. The battery and charger are sold separately.

The R09891B measures 10” tall, 11” long and 3-1/2” wide and there’s a 1:22 minute long introductory video on YouTube ™. The tool comes with a lifetime service agreement if it is registered within the first 90 days of ownership.
