04 Oct Coming Soon from Ryobi – an 18Volt Hybrid LED Panel Light
Running on either a battery or plugged into the household current (that’s the ‘hybrid’ part), this flexible three-way work light (model PCL631) delivers three powerful beams of light right where you need them. Coming soon from Ryobi, it’s designed for the company’s 18V ONE+ battery system and can light up any jobsite, work area, or outdoor space with 3,000 lumens of light output. The lighting output is very customizable because there are two rotating side panels that can turn 360 degrees, and the main panel can pivot 150 degrees. A woodworker can also free up his/her hands by mounting it on a photo or surveying tripod (using the built-in 1/4”-20 threaded insert) or by mounting it on screw heads using the integrated key holes.
The light has a portable pass-through handle, and it folds together for easy storage in between uses. It has three power settings (high, 3000 lumens/medium, 1800 lumens/low1000 lumens) for a variety of applications and battery saving options, and it will run up to 12 hours on the low setting. It’s part of the RYOBI ONE+ System of over 225 cordless tools that all work on the same battery platform, and it’s backed by a 3-year manufacturer’s warranty. The battery and charger are sold separately.
Ryobi is also about to introduce an 1800 lumen single light panel floodlight (PCL630, inset photo at bottom right). That too runs on hybrid power using a battery or plug in. It can be mounted on a tripod, stand on a flat surface, or hang from a horizontal 2×4. When placed on the floor or a counter, it can be pointed up at a ceiling for reflected softer light as the head rotates 360 degrees.
