20 Aug Continuous Bead or Reeded Cabinet Doors and Drawer Fronts from WalzCraft
WalzCraft is based in LaCrosse, Wisconsin, which is about a two-hour drive southeast of Minneapolis/St. Paul. The company manufactures custom cabinet doors, drawer fronts, dovetail drawer boxes, cabinet components, and millwork for custom cabinetmakers and re-facers throughout the United States and Canada.
WalzCraft has had a lot of requests for beaded or reeded cabinetry from homeowners, through the network of cabinet shops that it supplies. In response, the company has now added Continuous Bead Applied Molding Door and Drawer Front options to its catalog. These are made by applying a solid wood beaded molding to a veneered panel with an MDF Core. The a solid wood molding is applied to hide the raw edge of the veneered panel. Made to order, they are available in a variety of wood Species and finishes. For example, the door shown at the left in the photo (S974 Reed) is clear coated ash. It is 1″ thick at the edge, and 13/16″ at the center with a 9/16″ thick veneered panel.
These doors provide designers with a way to add texture, a little drama and some visual impact to cabinets, bathroom vanities and other furniture. They are available in a wide variety of species and colors.
