Cordless Router from Greenworks

The new brushless, 1/4” collet router (model 3516402, $129.99) comes with a 2 Ah battery and charger, and it delivers much longer tool life compared to brushed motor tools. It has five variable speeds from 10000 to 30000 RPM, and a rapid charging feature (about an hour). Compact and lightweight, it’s perfect for tight spaces and hard to reach places. It’s only 7-1/2″ from front to back and 2.27 lbs. There’s tool-free depth adjustment and a built-in LED light. Also included is a transparent dust shield with a vacuum hose attachment, plus an adjustable edge guide for precise positioning of inlays, dadoes, and the like. Greenworks says its 24V lithium-ion batteries provide 20% more power and 35% more run-time per battery because each pack contains an extra lithium-ion cell that leading competitors don’t have. The company notes that gives woodworkers more fade-free power with no memory loss after charging, so the batteries hold a charge for longer. Also included are a collet wrench, base clamp wrench, and one 1/4″ straight bit. The router carries a 3-year limited tool warranty and a 3-year battery warranty.
