Dark and Tight Spaces will Fear DeWALT’s New Subcompact Impact Wrenches

Yesterday, DeWALT introduced a pair of new extremely compact impact wrenches that could be a real boon for woodworkers installing narrow cabinets or trying to get into tight spaces to adjust hardware. The new XTREME Subcompact Series™ 12V MAX* tools come in half-inch (DCF901) and three-eighths inch (DCF903) versions – and are only 5.2 inches in length! They weigh in at just 2 lbs. without the battery and deliver up to 250 ft-lbs. of max tightening torque, or up to 400 ft-lbs. of max breakaway torque. Both models feature a hog ring anvil for easy socket changes and they have glass filled nylon housings that help to resist the effects of harsh chemicals and solvents. There’s a ring of LEDs that will light up the inside of a cabinet. The tools will be available in the next few weeks as either the tool only ($149) or as a kit with a 3.0Ah and a 5.0Ah battery plus a charger ($349).
