22 Nov DeWalt’s New DCCS677B Cordless 20” Chainsaw
Turners can harvest blanks, and woodworkers with a band mill can harvest whole trees with this new 60V MAX* brushless cordless chainsaw. With a peak of 4 HP (using a DCB615 battery, sold separately), this rugged saw packs the power and dependability needed for routine sunup to sundown workdays. Tighten the chain as needed for steady bar retention while the brushless motor delivers high-efficiency performance with auto-oiling for continuous lubrication. Kickback protection is provided by a built-in chain brake and a low kick back bar. Other features include quick chain adjustments with an onboard wrench, 20% more peak power than a 50.2 cc gas chainsaw (a Stihl MS271), and more than twice the torque of the gas saw. The DCCS677B cuts through a 17” diameter white oak log in as little as 15 seconds.
Included in the tool-only package ($349) are the saw, bar sheath, carry case, file and tensioning tool. The saw is also sold with various Amp-hour battery packages. The stock number for the replacement chain is DWO1DT620. The saw’s maximum initial battery voltage (measured without a workload) is 60 volts, and its nominal voltage is 54.
