Dovetail Groove Clamp Wins Award

One of MicroJig’s hottest products, the Matchfit Dovetail Clamp AP, was honored with a Pro Tool Innovation (PTI) award this month. The judges said they liked that the clamp head works with standard dovetail grooves (instead of T-Track), has an 8.5-inch capacity, two-way clamping force (it pushes in and down simultaneously, so it works great for assembling edge-glued panels), and the ability to hold round stock. They also noted that a coil prevents the arm from dropping, which is a huge convenience when you’re working on longer pieces. The clamp was released a few months ago as the newest addition to the Matchfit System that lets woodworkers build jigs and fixtures using simple, shop-made, routed dovetail tracks, rather than having to buy and work with aluminum T-tracks. And because the grooves can be made anywhere, the system opens up a lot of jig building possibilities.
