11 Dec Ernie Conover Will Be Teaching Classes in 2022
The author of The Lathe Book has a few COVID related restrictions in place for the 2022 academic year. Students attending courses at his Middlefield, Ohio studio will need to show proof of vaccination and will be required to wear face masks. Ernie used to offer accommodation in his home, but that’s off the cards for now.
In January and February, he’s offering a Zoom class for five consecutive Saturdays on building Shaker candle boxes. The March bowl turning class is full, but there are places available in the April 2-3 session. Then in July, students can learn all about Woodturning Tools & Techniques. That’s a five-day course split half and half on spindle and bowl turning. August will be Hand Tool Joinery where Ernie demonstrates that there’s still a need for hand tools in a machine world. In September, he’ll be covering Hollow Forms as an alternative to faceplate turned vessels. The academic year wraps up in October with a two-day course in Lidded Boxes, and another in Barley-Twist Candlesticks.
