31 May Fanuc Adds New Collaborative Robots
Fanuc has introduced the CRX-5iA, the CRX-20iA/L and the CRX-25iA collaborative robots (cobots), so there are now five models in the company’s popular CRX series. That makes it the most extensive lineup of easy-to-use cobots available on the market today, and the various models can handle products from 8.8 lbs. (4 kg) to 77 lbs (35 kg). The new cobots have 5 kg, 20 kg, and 25 kg payloads (hence the names). CRX cobots are safe, easy-to-use, reliable and a versatile solution for a wide range of applications, including inspection, machine load/unload, packing, palletizing, sanding, and more. They can detect external forces in the workspace, stopping safely when they contact a person or an object. This technology allows them to work safely alongside people, without the need for expensive guarding. They offer industrial ruggedness and no maintenance for up to eight years. In addition, interactive programming enables users to teach points using hand guidance or a tablet interface with drag and drop icons (that means they have easy programming). The series supports several advanced features including iRVision® (Fanuc’s unique, fully integrated visual detection system that enables its robots to see). CRX cobot e-Learning training modules are available to help operators get up to speed very quickly. Online tutorials cover a product overview with features, unboxing and setup, programming and iRVision courses. CRX cobot models are also easy to connect to third-party devices such as grippers, accessories, and plugins. The new CRX-20iA/L is available now, and the CRX-25iA and CRX-5iA will be available next month.
