20 Mar FastCap Adds GluBot Accessories
The Ferndale, Washington based company has recently added some new accessories to its handy glue bottle system. In fact, the bottles can be used to store many different types of liquids such as acetone, paint or lacquer thinner, alcohol and of course varying varieties of adhesives. The new accessories all work with the standard full-size GluBot plastic bottle (there are smaller versions available), and they control the size and shape of a line of glue plus the ability to store and organize the bottles. There are lids, rings, Yorkers and Blades (differently shaped orifices), plus caps for the bottles with strings to stop a woodworker misplacing them. There are also bases for the bottles that come in either screw-down or magnetized options, where the screwable ones are attached to surfaces such as wood or plastic, and the magnetic ones can be located anywhere on a ferrous (iron or steel) surface. GluBot adapters allow the use of small tips and tubes for reaching into tight spots to apply a spot of adhesive, while Guides have a pair of slim fingers that travel along the faces of a board and allow the woodworker to apply an accurate bead of glue dead center along an entire edge of a board. And the GluNip is a supple silicone tip that can be trimmed to size, never clogs, and keeps glue fresh and ready to use.
