04 Apr Giani White Marble Countertop Paint Kit
The Massachusetts based online retailer The Grommet has added a Giani White Marble paint kit to its catalog ($179.95) that it says can transform a countertop without the mess, time, or cost of replacement. “From dull and dated to dynamic and elegant, these kits will help you paint your countertops to look like marble and upgrade your home”. It’s a simple, three-step application that can transform plastic laminate, solid surface, ceramic tile, butcherblock, cultured marble, and traditional granite in a single weekend. Each kit contains all necessary tools and covers 35 square feet of surface, which is the average amount of countertop area in a kitchen (don’t forget the backsplash, edges, and sink cutouts when measuring). The kit is safe for interior use, has very low odor, and emits zero VOCs. The specialized primer hides existing discoloration, burns, stains, and minor scratches, while the mineral colors create the characteristics of marbled quartz. Each kit comes with an ultra-durable, high-gloss, crystal clear epoxy resin topcoat that finishes and protects the application against everyday use. The kit includes 31 oz. of marble white primer, 6 oz. of gray veining mineral, 3 oz. of white highlight mineral, three 9 oz. epoxy activators, three 18 oz. epoxy resins, a 6″ roller arm with one standard roller pad, two foam roller pads for epoxy application, two 2″ brushes, a 4″ paint sponge, a 2″ foam brush, an artist brush, a misting bottle, a practice board, three wooden stir sticks, a pair of nitrile gloves, a 9’x12′ plastic drop-cloth, and the step-by-step instructions. After installation, only use mild dish soap and water (no household cleaners) to maintain. The package dimensions are 16″ x 9″ x 7″ and it weighs 16 lbs. It’s made in Saint Louis, Missouri.
