Grizzly Introduces 16 x 44 Nova Lathe

New on the site is the Teknatool T32298, a 16″ x 44″ NOVA Galaxi DVR lathe that’s listed at $2,499.99 + $175 freight. It’s a great choice for serious hobbyists as it can handle a wide range of work from small pens to large 29″ diameter bowls, and it accommodates long spindle work when using the optional outrigger accessory. With no pulleys or belts to vibrate, the DVR™ direct drive motor is incredibly smooth. It’s also the only lathe to feature intelligent Adaptive Control™ software that produces optimum turning conditions for specific projects. The motor is 1-3/4 HP, 115V or 2 HP 220V with a continuously variable speed range from 100 – 5000 RPM. The spindle thread is 1-1/4″-8 and the tailstock is #2 MT hollowing (self-ejecting). The lathe’s capacities are 16” inboard, 29” outboard with the optional outrigger accessory, and 44” between centers. The head swivels 360 degrees. The controls include 8 favorite speeds, and dial-in speed control for faster, more precise speed setting. The on-board computer analyzes both the spindle position and the power required to maintain a given speed. There’s electronic auto braking, a speed chart, speed ramp profiles, idle motor detection and even password protection. The T32298 weighs in at 436 lbs.
