Lake Erie Toolworks Handplane Blade Update

On December 1st, Lake Erie Toolworks added a few more blade styles to its new CPM MagnaCut stainless steel lineup. The new entrants include spokeshave blades and a few more block plane blades. The spokeshave blades are compatible with Lie-Nielsen™ Boggs style shaves as well as their Small Bronze spokeshaves. The block plane blades are compatible with Lie-Nielsen™ No. 60-1/2 and No. 102 planes. Other planes that these irons will improve include antique Stanley bench planes and block planes, plus Lie-Nielsen bench planes and Veritas™ block planes. The new blades are of the highest quality and are made using double tempered, cryogenically treated CPM MagnaCut steel. They are tough, with very high wear resistance and unparalleled corrosion resistance. A variety of bench and block plane blades are available from Lake Erie, including spokeshaves and drawknives. The company, which is based in Erie, Pennsylvania, is a small, family-owned concern that has been in business since July 2008 with the goal of building the finest quality woodworking tools available. To date, its product line has expanded from a single wooden vise screw kit to include a large variety of wood and metal vise and clamping products.
