18 Mar Makita Introduces Two New Rotary Hammers with L-shaped Body Designs
Makita U.S.A., Inc. has launched two new 1-3/16” rotary hammers, both of which feature an L-shape design that lines up the user’s arm force with the chuck, for straighter drilling. The HM3001CK and HM3011FCK both accept SDS-PLUS bits and work on common anchor types such as screw anchors, drop-in anchors, and expansion anchors. They have three modes of operation – rotation only, hammering with rotation and hammering only. During hammer-only applications, multiple bit angle settings allow the bit to be set at different positions for optimum performance.
The HR3001CK has Constant Speed Control™, which automatically applies additional power to the motor to maintain speed under load. For increased comfort, the rotary hammer also has a vibration-absorbing back handle with a rubberized soft-grip. The variable speed trigger lets the user match the speed to the application, and it’s large enough for multi-finger control. Dust extraction can be added with the optional Makita® Dust Attachment (195173-3, sold separately) and any suitable dust extractor. For OSHA Table 1 Complaint dust extraction, users can pair the dust attachment with extractors that have a filter cleaning mechanism such as Makita’s VC4210L or XCV13 (sold separately).
The second new rotary hammer, the 1-3/16” AVT® includes Anti-Vibration Technology (AVT®), which is an internal counterbalance system for reducing vibration, and there’s an on-board dust extractor attachment (DX10, also sold separately), so that this rotary hammer can also become OSHA Table 1 Compliant. The tool features Constant Speed Control™, a variable speed trigger, a built-in L.E.D. light and an ergonomic, rubberized, soft-grip handle along with that large, multi-finger trigger.
