25 May Multipurpose Project Blocks from Kreg
The new blocks (item KFS-PUCK, $19.99 for a set of four) are the perfect way to support, hold, and work on projects. They elevate material 1-1/2″ above the work surface for convenient sanding, finishing, routing, and more. The blocks feature a GripMaxx™ surface on each face, where one side grips the workpiece and the other prevent the Blocks from moving around. Elevating the material makes routing edges easier because there’s added clearance for the router bit. The height also gives clamps room to fit under the workpiece, which is useful for drilling pocket holes or assembling your project. When it comes to painting or finishing, each block has a retractable painting point, again with GripMaxx™, for a little extra height. Just twist the block to raise the point. They won’t stick to material or ruin a finish. Each set of 4 pucks has a collective 200-lb weight capacity, and that 1/1/2” clearance means a woodworker can slip a scrap of 2×4 under a sheet when sawing, to support the cut. Handy, and clever. There’s a short YouTube™ video here.
