Rotary Tools Accessory Kit from Worx

New Accessory Kit Will Work with the Worx Rotary Tool and Others

The MakerX is a battery powered brushless rotary tool that accepts standard bits of all brands. What’s interesting is that the user doesn’t have to hold the weight of both the tool and the battery because there’s a 4-foot long power cord between the two.

Worx has just released a new 201-piece Accessory Kit (item WA7208, $49.99) that comes with a 1-year warranty and a 30-day guarantee. The kit allows the user to “sand small and delicate pieces, engrave metal and glass, carve wood, drill holes in metal, plastic and wood, grind off rust and burrs from metal, polish brass, glass and stone, and much more”.

The included tools are designed for sanding, engraving, polishing, drilling, grinding and cutting. They come in a high-impact storage case with a latch, and there’s an extra 1/8” and a 3/16” collet to accommodate most popular bit shanks.

The kit includes (12) – Sanding Bands, (12.7 x 12.7 mm) #60; (12) – Sanding Bands (6.3 x 12.7 mm) #60; (5) – Felt Wheels (25.4 x 6.3 mm); (5) – Felt Wheels (12.7 x 6.3 mm); (8) – Diamond Bits (different shapes); (2) – Collets (1 x 1/8 in., 1 x 3/16 in., aluminum); (2) – Mandrel for Cut Off Wheels (3.2 mm); (2) – Mandrel for Felt Wheels (3.2 mm); (40) – #320 Sanding Paper; (40) – #240 Sanding Paper; (40) – #180 Sanding Paper; (1) – Wrench (65 Mn); (2) – Silicon Carbide Grinding Stones; (10) – Cut Off Wheels (Heavy Duty) (24 x 0.6 mm); (1) – Polishing Compound; (4) – Aluminum Oxide Grinding Stones; (2) – Sanding Shanks (6.3 x 12.7 mm and 12.7 x 12.7 mm); (1) – Whet Stone (for grinding stone); (3) – Steel Brushes (3.2 mm); (3) – Brass Brushes (3.2 mm); (3) – Nylon Brushes (3.2 mm); (2) – HSS Cutter (3.2 mm and 2.4 mm); and (1) – HSS Drill (1/8 in.).

WoodEzine saw the variable speed Worx MakerX (model WX739L) on Amazon for $95.64 with a standard 42-piece accessory kit. The listing said that the tool runs up to 35,000 RPM, is compatible with all of the Worx 20 Volt and 40 Volt systems, and it comes with a 20 Volt battery and a Hub recharger.

Among several new tools from Worx, WoodEzine featured a new cordless miter saw last November. The company seems to be building up quite a catalog of well-priced, well-built cordless tools.
