27 Dec Ryobi Brushless 3/8″ Extended Reach Ratchet Tool
Back in April, WoodEzine reported on an inexpensive cordless racket tool from Ryobi. Now the company has introduced a new extended reach tool (item PBLRC25B, $159) that could be very helpful when installing cabinets or countertops, or perhaps when reaching unusual hardware in tight spaces. It’s part of the company’s 18V ONE+ HP battery system that now includes more than 225 tools that all work with the same 18-Volt battery.
The ratchet tool has a brushless motor that delivers up to 55 ft-lbs. of torque, and a variable speed metal paddle trigger with a range of 0 to 230 RPM. Its slim head and extended reach provide excellent access to tight spaces, and it has a 4-position rotating head for getting access to hard-to -reach angles. There are dual on-board LED work lights that cover any angle as the head swivels.
The extended reach ratchet has a standard 3/8” anvil with a pin detent, and there’s a switch that will lock and unlock the trigger so there are no accidental turn-ons. There’s a hole that accepts a belt hook and belt clip accessories, and the tool is covered by a 3-year limited warranty.
