16 Nov Ryobi’s Modular Link Storage System
The new Link™ modular storage system is pretty darn smart. It begins with small, interlocking plates called wall rails that look like something from Lego™ on steroids, and they can be attached anywhere on a shop wall. The size of these rails (33” wide and 6-1/2” tall) means that a woodworker can be very creative and add storage in all kinds of nooks and crannies. Or he/she can cover a whole wall with them if needed. The second part to the system is a pretty substantial array of hooks, shelves, bins, holders and organizers that can hold just about anything from shop-built jigs for the table saw to power tolls and screwdrivers.
Here’s how the company describes the wall rails…
“The RYOBI LINK Wall Rails allow you to optimize your space with customizable organization. The 33″ Wall Rails are easily installed with visible mounting points. The high strength polymer material and maximum stud engagement provide a 75 lb. per foot weight capacity to maximize your storage options.”
There are also small and medium sized toolboxes and crates that can be stored on the wall and then popped onto a handy cart for transportation to the jobsite. Here’s the company on that one…
“The RYOBI LINK Rolling Tool Box is designed with impact resistant material to handle the toughest of situations. It has a wide, steel telescoping handle and 9″ all-terrain wheels that support a 200 lb. load capacity. This Rolling Tool Box is IP65 rated to protect your items from water and dust in any environment. The integrated RYOBI accessory bit storage and included Double Organizer Bin provides maximum organization. Easily secure your items with a locking point and integrated tie down anchors.”
The modular Link storage system is scheduled to hit Home Depot stores by Christmas.
