15 Feb Senco’s F-LXP is an 18-Gauge Cordless Pneumatic Stapler
The new 1-1/2” x 1/4” crown finish stapler (F-LXP) provides “the power and speed of traditional pneumatics with the portability and convenience of a cordless tool”. It includes the company’s patented Fusion Technology and delivers an immediate response to the trigger pull, driving crown finish staples with no ramp-up time between shots. This is Senco’s first-ever cordless stapler, and it’s ideal for cabinet assembly, heavy upholstery, insulation, soundproofing, paneling, trim, sheathing, underlayment, siding, soffits and more. It accommodates staples from 3/8” to 1-1/2” in length, and it packs the power to sink them in most common materials.
Fusion’s time-tested, cordless, pneumatic technology was introduced in 2010 and it harnesses air power rather than combustible gas or mechanical flywheels to drive fasteners. The F-LXP includes a self-contained compressed air cylinder. When the trigger is pulled, the tool’s driver blade is released, and it drives fasteners just like a traditional stapler. The tool’s 18-volt, lithium-ion battery powers an electric motor that recompresses the air in a fraction of a second, allowing for instant firing with no ramp-up time. The air cylinder never needs refilling from everyday use. However, like all the latest SENCO cordless tools, the F-LXP is designed to be service-center friendly. A pressure release valve allows the tool to be depressurized and refilled quickly and safely if maintenance or repair is required.
Other features include a thumbwheel Depth-of-Drive control that lets a woodworker quickly and easily set the depth of drive without tools. There’s a selectable actuation switch that goes from sequential to bump fire with the press of a button. The tool has jam reduction intelligence that reduces the occurrence of fastener jams, and dry fire lockout. It also has a built-in LED light and a streamlined contact element which is a narrow yet durable nosepiece and contact safety that improve the line of sight. The Senco F-LXP comes with a storage bag, a no-mar pad, an 18V Li-Ion battery and a quick charger. The manufacturer’s suggested retail price is $389.
