10 Jul Show Deadline Extended
The Minnesota Woodworkers’ Guild is one of the premier pro-am associations of its kind anywhere on the planet, and each year its members celebrate woodshop creativity by holding the Northern Woods Exhibition in Minneapolis. The competition is open to members, non-members and students, all for relatively small fees. Pieces can be exhibited without competing too, and they can be offered for sale. The rules are HERE. This year the Guild has chosen to delay the annual show until October 22-25, and entries can be submitted until October 11. The event will take place at the Eden Prairie Center, which is a shopping mall about twenty minutes southwest of downtown Minneapolis. The piece shown here is Cedar Strip Sea Kayak by John Zachman, which won the 2019 Peer Award and the Peoples’ Choice Award. The Guild is also planning its second annual Tool Swap and Expo on September 19th (more details on the website). That event will take place from 9 am to 3 pm at the Bloomington Armory, and there are five nationally known woodworkers lined up for one hour presentations each.
