20 Jan South Bend Bandsaw from Grizzly Can Resaw to 16”
The new SB1123 ($4,735 + $289 freight) is a 24″ industrial duty resaw bandsaw with a 7-1/2 HP motor. It has a massive 24-3/8″ throat and a full 16″ vertical resaw capacity. This is the largest capacity wood-cutting bandsaw that South Bend offers, and it’s made for production work. It has dual ball-bearing blade guides and rack-and-pinion table adjustments. The cast-iron wheels are computer-balanced, and the table is quite sizeable at 23-5/8″ x 33-1/2″. It is made from 2″ thick precision-ground cast-iron, and it also has cast-iron trunnions to minimize vibration. South Bend says that the table’s tilting mechanism is the strongest in the industry and will support the heaviest loads without losing squareness.
The quick-change blade is 181” and the saw’s overall height is 83-1/2”. The shipping weight is 948 lbs. Available accessories include a resaw fence attachment plus 1/4” to 1-1/2” wide blades. The motor is 220V/440V, 3-phase, 20A/10A, and it’s prewired for 220V. The factory can prewire for 440V. The table tilts 5 degrees left and 45 degrees right, and it is 33” off the floor when level.
There are ball-bearing upper and lower blade guides with thrust bearings. The blade speed is 5300 FPM and the machine’s overall dimensions are 48″ W x 32″ D x 83-1/2″ H. There are two 4″ dust ports, a foot-operated brake system and a quick-change blade release/tensioner. The SB1123 comes with a 2-year warranty.
