21 Aug Spray Guns from Graco Have Material-Specific Caps
The new PerformAA™ line of air assist spray guns from Graco Inc. in Minneapolis is designed specifically for general finishing, wood lacquer, low viscosity, high viscosity, quick drying, topcoat or waterborne applications. The line includes manual and automatic applicators that have material-specific air caps that are geometrically designed for those specific tasks, and they fit both manual and automatic PerformAA models.
“To produce consistent atomization and a clean pattern when spraying certain materials, it’s important to have air caps designed for them,” says Wendy Hartley, global product manager for manual finishing equipment in Graco’s Industrial Products Division. “One air cap does not fit all.”
At just 1 lb., the PerformAA 15, PerformAA 50 and PerformAA Airless are the lightest manual AA spray guns available. Other operator-friendly features include an ultra-light trigger pull to reduce fatigue and muscle stress, and ergonomic handle and finger rest to fit comfortably in any sized hand, cartridge-style components that minimize maintenance downtime, and they’re the only automatic spray gun with air cap orientation. In fact, PerformAA Auto is the only automatic air-assisted spray gun on the market with features that help operators set and quickly repeat exact air cap orientation. This is especially important in automated flatline finishing and is achieved in part by using angle marks in the fluid housing on all PerformAA Auto guns. The Graco Gauge air cap alignment tool combined with the angle indicators save time and labor whenever air caps are cleaned, or guns are serviced.
