12 Nov Spraying Just Got Easier and Safer
The new Air Vision 5000 from SATA® is a breathing hood that supplies fresh air from outside the booth. NIOSH approved, it can be adjusted for circumference, height and position for a comfortable fit. There’s no inhalation resistance, so it offers very comfortable breathing and a high level of protection that is suitable for prolonged intervals. The visor allows one-handed operation and a non-reflecting view due to a solvent-resistant special foil. A safety gauge with a green zone notifies the user of adequate air pressure so that he/she can maintain a constant positive pressure inside the hood, which prevents overspray intrusion. The Air Vision 5000 delivers a large field of vision. SATA has also recently introduced the SATAjet X 5500 gun that features the company’s X-nozzle system for spraying the newer high solids urethane wood coatings. A woodworker can choose between I and O nozzle sets, to help match the way he/she likes to coat. The spray fan size and width remain unchanged across the entire nozzle spectrum. The I nozzles produce a parallel spray fan pattern with a minimal dry zone and a drier center, which is ideal for shops that prefer a reduced application speed and maximum application control during the painting process. The film build per coat in comparison to an O nozzle of the same size is slightly reduced. The latter have an oval-shaped spray fan pattern with a larger dry zone and a wet core, to accommodate increased application speed at the expense of slightly less application control during the painting process.
