11 Aug The Pivot Line Finishing System from Guffey Systems
This is a system of rails and hangers that together comprise “the pinnacle of non-contact finishing and handling. Go from bare wood to final coat without having to touch the finished surface of your components.” The system is the original vision of cabinetmaker Nathan Guffey who set out three years ago to find the most efficient and cost-effective method to move components more quickly through his own finish booth. The old method of spraying flat and setting to drying racks involves an incredible amount of handling time, and it increases the risk of mishandling.
The finishing process is the bottleneck innearly every cabinet shop. Guffey Systems has witnessed production speeds increase by two and a half times in shops that use its Pivot Line. It lets components move through the entire finishing process (from bare wood to ready-for-hardware) with minimal handling or direct contact, significantly reducing handling mishaps.
Built and assembled in the USA, it has been designed as an industrial quality tool that is ready for years of trouble-free service. Pivot Line can be sized to virtually any shop and has been designed for easy expansion. The stock rack includes 16 pre-assembled Fixed Mounts for hanging components from all Guffey Systems hangers. The commercial duty rolling rack has a fully welded base and galvanized steel tubes, and it includes steering handles for maneuvering through the shop. There are heavy-gauge steel clamps at each tubing joint for stiffness and robustness. Doors can be hung diagonally from a single Offset Hanger, or horizontally by using two Offset Hangers on a T Hanger.
Guffey Systems is a joint development effort between Guffey Cabinetry in Alcoa, Tennessee and APTUS DesignWorks, where the product design and engineering expertise of APTUS is combined with the cabinet finishing knowledge and experience of Guffey Cabinetry.
