13 Jul Three New 2 Ah Tools from Worx
Worx has introduced several new tools in its Nitro 20V line of power tools and three in particular caught the eye of our woodworking staff. Those are the Impact Driver & Hammer Drill Combo Kit (item WX971L, listed at $229.99), and the Power Share Cordless Oscillating Multi-Tool.
Both the impact driver and the hammer drill have brushless motors that are more efficient, run 50% longer, are 25% more powerful, and have 10% longer life than equivalent brushed motors. The impact driver has a 1/4″ quick-release HEX metal chuck for fast bit changes, and 3-speed control with a variable speed trigger.
The hammer drill has a heavy-duty 1/2” ratcheting all-metal chuck, all-metal gears, 2-speed control, 20+1+1 torque clutch setting, and a variable speed trigger.
Both tools are lightweight and are designed with ergonomic GripZone micro-texture for comfort and control. They have LED lights to illuminate the workspace and cutline, and they use Worx Power Share intelligent batteries that maximize power, performance and run time. They are compatible with all Worx 20V and 40V tools, and a 2 Amp charger is included that will charge either of the two included 2 Ah battery in one hour. There’s also a carry bag, and the tools come with a 3-year warranty.
The new cordless oscillating multi-tool (item WX697L, listed at $169.99) also has a brushless motor and a 3-year warranty. Its 3-degree oscillation angle maximizes control for cutting in tough materials and helps to extend the blade life. Its universal fit interface works with all major brands’ accessories, and there’s a very nice tool-free Hyperlock clamping system (bottom right in photo) that holds blades in place and eliminates any accessory slippage. The tool has an elongated and slim handle that improves one’s comfort and control. The motor is variable speed, there’s an LED light, and it comes with a 2 Ah battery and charger. Beyond the carry bag, the multi-tool also comes with two bi-metal end-cut blades and two wood end-cut blades.
