11 Jan Three New Corded R.O. Sanders from Bosch
The Bosch GEX33-5 is a 5” random orbit sander and polisher that has the ability to use virtually any brand of hook and loop sandpaper on the market because of its multi-hole design. The 335 sander maintains optimum dust extraction and provides longer sandpaper life due to increased efficiency. Its microfilter dust system captures fine dust as small as a 1/2 micron in diameter. The tool features a solid die-cast aluminum gear housing with an exclusive dual-bearing pad mount that delivers less vibration. A variable-speed dial matches the speed to the workpiece and task, from 4,500 to 12,000 orbits per minute (opm), and there’s an ergonomic soft-grip top and body. It comes with a medium stiffness backing pad and a hex pad wrench, one sanding disc, a removable front handle for sanding in tight spots, a microfilter dust canister and two vacuum hose adapters. The pad both orbits and rotates, and an integral pad-dampening system helps prevent swirl marks for a consistent fine finish. Bosch is also introducing a pair of 6” sanders, the GEX33-6N (shown in the photo as the 336), and the GEX34-6N (346). Both essentially share the same features as the 335, except that the 346 has a microfilter dust canister with an integrated paper filter and a vacuum-hose connection, and it orbits in a range from 5,500 to 12,000 opm. We’ve seen the 335 offered at about $155, the 336 at about $160, and the 346 at $248.
