21 Feb Two New Pro Grade HEPA Dry Vacuums from Makita
The new 2.1 gallon and 4-gallon models are each powered by two 18V LXT® batteries and an efficient 36V brushless motor, giving woodworkers high performance and top quality cordless options for job site dust extraction and cleanups. The smaller model comes as a kit (XCV21PTX) and is also available as the tool only (XCV21ZX). The larger unit’s tool only model number is XCV24ZX. Both are powered by the same fast-charging 18-volt batteries that run over 275 other Makita LXT products. And both deliver up to 80 minutes of continuous runtime when using two 5.0Ah batteries. The powerful Makita-built brushless motors deliver 74 CFM and 44″ of water lift.
Both units have a three-stage HEPA filter that captures 99.97% of particulates that are 0.3 microns and larger. The motor chamber in each tool is constructed with sound-absorbing materials, emitting only 64dB (decibels) on the high setting. The control panel has a five-speed switch. The dust extractors come with an 11-foot-long anti-static 1” diameter hose and three adaptor cuffs in 22, 24, and 38 mm that fit 1” hoses. A removable storage box holds attachments and the batteries. There’s not much difference in weight – the small unit weighs 16.8 lbs. and the larger is 17.2 lbs.
The 2.1-gallon kit includes two 5 Ah batteries, a dual port rapid charger, the hose, main filter, damper, pre-filter and three adapters. The tool-only models don’t include the batteries and charger.
These new vacuums are part of Makita’s expanding dust extraction system that includes canister and backpack models as well as a comprehensive range of attachments for concrete applications. Contractors seeking a system compliant with the OSHA Silica Standard Rule 29 CFR 1926.1153 can use the Makita website to quickly search by application, model number, and more.
